On June 16, 2010, Morgan Stanley CEO James Gorman presented CWCID second place in the Morgan Stanley Social Enterprise Strategy Challenge.
Over eight weeks, teams of Morgan Stanley employees provided pro-bono consulting services to CWCID and eleven other New York City nonprofits around issues of organizational growth, programming, and expansion.
The Morgan Stanley team's services came at the perfect time--just as CWCID was embarking on a strategic planning process. CWCID's Board of Directors made it a top priority to identify the optimal strategy for further scaling its effective financial empowerment work. The Morgan Stanley team researched and made recommendations on the best options for the model, pacing and organizational resources required to achieve scale.
CWCID is grateful for the tireless efforts of the team of volunteers.CWCID received a grant to implement the Morgan Stanley team's recommendations as a top finisher in the Strategy Challenge. CWCID looks forward to getting started and to sharing updates on our strategic planning process over the next year.
